From the past few months, petrol rate was raised day by day. Calculation from various sources show that the rate or fuel will constantly going up looking at today’s price situation.

This increase for sure costs more for vehicle owners involves a large number of the people as most population of the world have car.

Here are a number of the tips that you can practice to save your fuel usage.

Air conditioning system results in an increased load on the engine which results in greater fuel consumption. It will use about 10% extra fuel when operating and declining your engine’s efficiency so never turn it on unless you really need it.

Same with human, the engine has to respire and a clogged air filter can affect the engine’s performance. Replace the dirty air filter with a better filter to enhance your vehicle’s petrol mileage by five to ten percent. Ask your mechanic whether the air filter should be replaced the next time you bring the car for service or scheduled maintenance.

A infrequently serviced engine will cut fuel mileage by 10-20% so ensure the spark plugs are operating properly. Be sure to use appropriate thickness of fluids in your engine and transmission system.

Your car’s fuel declines exponentially at higher speeds. Driving slower can decrease the fuel consumption by 10%. Researches have shown that you will acquire up to 40 percent additional mileage at 45-55 kmph. Decreasing your speed even at a little number can give a lot of positive results. So keep in mind to watch your speed for the sake of your engine performance and saving fuel.

Turn off all power consuming system before switching on the ignition to avoid heavy battery load during the next ignition. Besides that, make sure your car gear has been set into neutral or park setting when stopping at a set of traffic lights or in traffic for a long period as this habit will help to save your fuel.

Do not use the clutch and accelerator when waiting during traffic jam or stopping for a while as it consumes fuel. Use handbrake instead of relying to gears.

Look for your car’s tire pressure. On average, a tire will drop around 1 pound per square inch (psi) every month. Less pressure in your tires means more friction resistance on the road which causes the engine to work harder to keep you accelerating. Be sure to check your car’s tire pressure monthly.

Be sure to follow the maintenance schedule in your vehicle’s instruction book, and act quickly if you realize any unusual disturbances.
